Hello HOT Georgia heat…
It has reached the level of hotness where the only way to survive outside is to only go out at dusk and dawn, or to be in some sort of water. This is usually how it feels in August, but looks like the summer craziness has hit us early this year.
With all of that said, it’s no wonder we have turned to our favorite summer treats around the house. Popsicles and ice cream! These Orange Berry Blasts popsicles are easy to make and super delicious!! We use our favorite berries- strawberries and blueberries- for some added flavor and color. They boys love frozen blueberries as a snack, so they were excited to see them inside of a popsicle! I even let my oldest boy help to prep the pops. It’s always nice to get him into the groove of being in the kitchen.. it will do him good when he’s older:)
I washed and sliced the strawberries and washed the blueberries. Then I made sure to remove all of the stems. After that, Blake helped me stir together the honey and OJ. We use raw honey and Uncle Matts OJ. After that is done, we set aside the OJ mix and stacked the berries into our silicone pop holder, making sure to alternate them so they look “fancy”. Then you simply pour your OJ mixture over the berries and insert your popsicle holders. I have seen people use carrot sticks (which is genius) but all we had on hand was pretty straws. I cut them in half and they worked well enough! Pop your tray carefully into the freezer and let freeze for 4 or more hours. Once they are frozen all the way through, ENJOY!
